Near raw footage of castle walkthrough. Need to redo this again (before they start the 3 year restoration work in 2009) since I didn't even realize at the time how dirty the lens filter was. I also forgot to disable the auto focus (=_=').
Some kind of small hand held stabilizer might also help (a larger unit like a Glidecam, Spiderbrace, or one of the DIY type systems might be problematic in navigating up the steep/narrow stairs). Walking up these steep steps with a large and nearly loaded backpack while carrying two cameras (and recording with one) can be rather hazardous as it messes with your balance (nearly fell backwards one time). I didn't video my previous Himeji visit and had a smaller pack so it was much easier going.
Raw clip of
Himeji Castle viewed from the intersection of Route 2 and Otemae-dori. The jerkiness is because I'm walking while videotaping with one hand and shooting D-SLR photos with the other. I'm probably going to invest in some sort of stabilizer since some of these vids looked like there was a constant shindo 4 quake going on.
Rare snow storm in early February 2008 in Tokyo. 3 different rolling stock are seen from Ochanomizu Bridge; the first orange train is the older 201 series JR Chuo Kaisoku (中央快速線), the second train with the orange lines (closest to the Kanda river) is the newer E233 series JR Chuo Kaisoku, and the 3rd train with the yellow lines is an E231 series JR Chuo-Sobu (中央・総武緩行線)
Fukuroda Falls (袋田の滝 Fukuroda no taki) is located deep within a gorge in the town of Daigo (大子町 Daigomachi) in Ibaraki Prefecture. It is considered one of the top 3 most beautiful falls in Japan. During the winter, the waterfall freezes completely into a gigantic icicle. making an already spectacular sight even more amazing.
