Clicking the categories listed below the "Maps of Japan" menu item on the left will produce a satellite map and will eventually have more granular details and categories (cities, hotels, JR stations, restaurants, attractions, etc) and markers to points of interest.

Caveats: The Map, Satellite, and Hybrid boxes also look grayed out but toggling between Map and Satellite does work.
