Tokyo University has developed Mamoru-kun, a robot which assists those who are forgetful to remember things.

The robot was developed to assist senior citizens remember whether or not they took their medication or to remind them about it.

Mamoru-kun uses advanced image processing technology via sensors in both eyes which detects the actions and movements of a person and recognizes when they've swallowed a pill or liquid medication.  The robot remembers the actions and can remind and protect a forgetful person about their daily dosage.

The robot demonstrates in the video how it detects movements and sends voice commands reminding the person to take their medicine.  It also shows the robot detecting a situation of taking the same medicine and voicing a warning that it was taken just a few seconds ago.  Additional cameras installed in the room also allows the robot to remind the person about other things like where they had left their glasses or other items.
